What is the AG Pass Program?
The AG Pass Program is the result of recent legislation that was written in response to California wildfires and other disasters impacting agricultural lands, establishing a voluntary framework for agriculturalists to be able to display an AG Pass card badge to emergency staff at disaster road blocks for limited emergency access onto their property to conduct limited activities such as, caring for agricultural assets.
Activities that are allowed under the AG Pass are:
Sheltering, moving, transporting, evacuating, feeding, watering, or administering veterinary care to livestock and irrigating crops.
Irrigating crops and movement of farm equipment.
Provide auxiliary support to emergency personnel such as identifying water points or roads and any other local knowledge that may assist emergency response personnel.
Harvesting of crops is not a permitted activity under the AG Pass Program.
An AG Pass does not guarantee the AG Pass holder access to the property. If there is imminent danger, front line emergency personnel will assess the risk and use discretion to determine if access will be allowed.
