Free SPCA Monterey County Pet Food Bank Needs Your Help

 


SPCA Monterey County is focused on keeping pets in their homes with their loving families during difficult times. So far this year they have given out more than 150,000 lbs of free pet food. 


This holiday season, the need continues. Every week, the SPCA provides free pet food and supplies to over 800 pets in our community. 


“I’m on social security disability and my dog is my helper,” says a Pet Food Bank recipient from Seaside. “He monitors my blood sugar and he’s my psychiatric service dog. If it wasn’t for the Pet Food Bank, I wouldn’t be able to give him the nutrition he needs to help me. I’m really grateful for the SPCA.”

The SPCA Monterey County gratefully accepts any brand, any size, and food for any type of pet. They are most in need of dry dog and dry cat food in small to large bags, while their Pet Food Bank is free to anyone in need, all thanks to you. The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Monterey County is your nonprofit, independent, donor-supported humane society that has been serving the animals and people of Monterey County since 1905. The SPCA is not a chapter of any other agency and does not have a parent organization.  They shelter homeless, neglected and abused pets and livestock, and provide humane education and countless other services to the community.   According to King City Police Department, on December 30, 2024 a 17-year-old minor female victim reported that she had attended a party on the 100 Block of Bedford Circle on December 24, 2024. 3 Vehicle Wreck on Highway 101 Outside of King City on December 26

  A 3 vehicle accident happened on Highway 101 Northbound near the Central Avenue exit outside of King City at 12:07 pm on Thursday afternoon, December 26. One of the vehicles overturned as a result of the crash. Minor injuries were reported from the collision. 

Greenfield Man Arrested for November 26 Attempted Murder Incident in King City

  On November 26, 2024, at approximately 4:05 PM, officers from the King City Police Department were dispatched to the 900 block of Broadway Street for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers learned that the victim had been shot multiple times and was transported by family members to a local hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening wounds. Through investigation, detectives identified a possible suspect vehicle. A subject associated to that vehicle was contacted and later arrested for his involvement in the shooting. He is identified as 20-year-old Adrian Justo of Greenfield. Justo was booked into Monterey County Jail for attempted murder. There is no additional information at this time and the investigation is on-going.
