Monster Truck Throwdown Roars into The Salinas Sports Complex on June 1!

 

SALINAS, CA March 11, 2025 – The Monster Truck Throwdown is set to shake up the Salinas Sports Complex on Sunday, June 1st, bringing high-flying, car-crushing action to the Central Coast. There will be a bigger, more challenging track than in previous years. Tickets go on sale to the public on March 18th at 10 AM, exclusively at https://www.carodeo.com/events/2025/monster-truck-throwdown. The event is presented by Gold Star GMC.


 


TICKET INFORMATION:


    Box Seats (Ages 2+) – $45

    West Grandstand – Adult & ADA (Ages 13+) – $32

    Kids (Ages 2-12, except box seats) – $15

    Pre-Party Pass – $10 (Must be purchased separately and must accompany an event ticket)

     


Gates will open at 10:30 AM, with the show kicking off at 2 PM. Fans can get up close to the massive trucks and meet the drivers during the Pre-Party from 11 AM to 1 PM (separate ticket required; must accompany an event ticket). “We’re thrilled to bring another top-notch monster truck show to Salinas this year! We encourage families to arrive early, enjoy the pre-party, grab some lunch, and get ready for an action-packed event starting at 2 PM,” said Sam Jenkinson, Chairman of the California Rodeo’s Monster Truck Committee.

Megasaurus will perform in the middle of the monster truck show.  Weighing over 50,000 pounds and standing 3 stories tall, this mechanical T-Rex boasts 15,000 pounds of crushing force in each claw and an equally powerful bite. Megasaurus is designed to easily tear through cars, thrilling crowds with its incredible destruction.

Fatal 3 Vehicle Accident Involving Wrong Way Driver on Highway 101 Outside of King City on January 10

  A fatal multi-vehicle collision happened on Saturday night, January 10 at 9:51 p.m. on northbound Highway 101 outside of King City. Monterey County DA Releases Preliminary Information Concerning an Officer Involved Shooting Incident that Occurred Outside of Soledad on December 16

  SALINAS, California- Monterey County District Attorney Jeannine M. Pacioni on December 19 released preliminary information concerning the officer involved shooting (OIS) which occurred at about 1:20 a.m. outside the city of Soledad on December 16, 2025. Just before 1:00 a.m., Monterey County Sheriff’s Deputy Carlos Pina, who has been a peace officer for 10 years all with MCSO, and Deputy Blain Councilman, each in separate patrol cars, were dispatched to 32097 McCoy Road. A resident at the farm labor camp reported a suspicious individual with a handgun whose white Honda 4 door sedan was parked in space 18 at the complex. King City City Council Announces Selection of José Arreola as New City Manager

  January 7, 2025-Following an extensive recruitment process, José Arreola has been selected by the King City City Council to be its next City Manager. Arreola will replace Steve Adams, who is retiring after serving in the position for the past 10 years. Arreola was selected from 31 applicants and 8 finalists for the position. The King City City Council will formally consider the proposed city manager contract at its meeting on Tuesday night, January 13.
