SPCA of Monterey County is offering free mobile spay and neuter surgeries for dogs and cats in South Monterey County. These free clinics for South County residents are sponsored by our friends at Hitchcock Road Animal Services and staffed by SPCA Monterey County’s veterinary team.
This is in addition to our low-cost Veterinary Clinic at the SPCA, available by appointment Monday through Friday every week, which spays and neuters over 8,000 animals every year and offers free feral cat surgeries year-round.
These free mobile clinics are open to dogs, feral cats, and friendly cats located in South Monterey County, from Chualar south to the county lines. As always, our affordable Veterinary Clinic at the SPCA remains open to all Monterey County residents.
Our upcoming free surgeries in South Monterey County include:
Wednesday, Feb 12: King City - King City Recreation Center, 401 Division St.
Wednesday, Feb 26: Soledad - Soledad Lions Club, 161 Park St.
Wednesday, Mar 5: Soledad - Soledad Lions Club, 161 Park St.
Wednesday, Mar 19: King City - King City Recreation Center, 401 Division St.
Appointments and $25 deposits to hold your spot are required. The deposits are fully refundable when you arrive at your appointment with your pet. These free surgeries also include rabies vaccinations and FVRCP (for cats) and DA2PP (for dogs). All feral cats must be in humane traps, all friendly cats must be in cat carriers, and all dogs must be on leash. Make your appointment now at www.spcamc.org/vet-clinic.
Since the SPCA Veterinary Clinic opened in 1976, our work has greatly reduced pet overpopulation in Monterey County and made a difference for the pets and people who count on us by providing high-quality, affordable surgeries. We have spayed and neutered over 180,000 animals, preventing the birth of hundreds of thousands of unwanted pets in our community. This year, we expect to spay and neuter over 8,000 local animals, including over 1,600 free feral cat surgeries.
Donor support makes our lifesaving services possible, from spay/neuter to animal rescue, disaster response, sheltering all types of animals, our pet food bank, wildlife rescue, humane education, emergency surgeries, and more. Your love truly changes lives! Donate online at www.spcamc.org/donate
SPCA Monterey County is your nonprofit, independent, donor-supported humane society that has been serving the animals and people of Monterey County since 1905. The SPCA is not a chapter of any other agency and does not have a parent organization. They shelter homeless, neglected and abused pets and livestock, and provide humane education and countless other services to the community. They are the local agency you call to investigate animal cruelty, rescue and rehabilitate injured wildlife, and aid domestic animals in distress.
