The Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) measures performance in health care where improvements can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. The HEDIS® audit evaluates how well the Alliance network of providers is delivering services to its patients. In addition, the audit subjects specific healthcare data elements to integrity checks, tests of completeness, transparency of reporting, compliance checks, and verification of services.

HEDIS® includes more than 90 measures across 6 domains of care:

    Effectiveness of Care.

    Access/Availability of Care.

    Experience of Care.

    Utilization and Risk Adjusted Utilization.

    Health Plan Descriptive Information.

Measures Reported Using Electronic Clinical Data Systems

More than 227 million people are enrolled in plans that report HEDIS results, making HEDIS one of health care’s most widely used performance improvement tools.
