Megan Pagnini Crowned 2024 Miss California Mid-State Fair Queen!

 

(PASO ROBLES, CA) – The California Mid-State Fair is pleased to announce that 18-year-old

Megan Pagnini of Paso Robles, has been crowned the 2024 Miss California Mid-State Fair

Queen and Miss Congeniality. 18-year-old Ashlee Holt of Paso Robles was the 1st Runner Up,

21-year-old Logan Rutherford of Paso Robles was 2nd Runner Up. 18-year-old Vanessa Pinedo

of Paso Robles won the Talent Competition with her Folklorico dance to “Son de la Negra.” 17-

year-old Hailey Terrell of Templeton won the Interview Competition.

The Queen receives an increased prize winning of $2,500 cash (previously $1,000),

1st Princess receives $1,000 (previously $500), and 2nd Princess receives $500

(previously $250). Newly added cash prize winnings also included Miss Congeniality

$250, Interview $100, and Talent $100. All contestants also received swag and prizes

from local businesses.

Megan Pagnini will be returning to the University of Arizona as a Sophomore in the fall. She

enjoys singing, dancing, acting, cheerleading, spending time with her dog, family, and friends,

and traveling. She was part of the Paso Robles High School Advanced Choir, Theatre, Cheer

and Stunt Team, as well as Advanced Dance, and Professional Achievements in Nursing Club.

She’s won an AP Scholar Award, is a two-time all-American Cheerleader, and on the Dean’s

Honor Roll at the University of Arizona. For her talent, she sang ‘Wide Open Spaces’

by the Chicks. Her Fair Proposal is titled ‘Get Home Safe’ and is to ensure the participants of

the California Mid-State Fair get home safely and educate them on the effects drunk driving can

have on themselves and others. Five words that describe her are curious, determined,

generous, courageous and witty.

  A fatal multi-vehicle collision happened on Saturday night, January 10 at 9:51 p.m. on northbound Highway 101 outside of King City. King City City Council Announces Selection of José Arreola as New City Manager

  January 7, 2025-Following an extensive recruitment process, José Arreola has been selected by the King City City Council to be its next City Manager. Arreola will replace Steve Adams, who is retiring after serving in the position for the past 10 years. Arreola was selected from 31 applicants and 8 finalists for the position. The King City City Council will formally consider the proposed city manager contract at its meeting on Tuesday night, January 13. Arreola's first day on the job is scheduled to be February 23.    José Arreola has a distinguished career of serving the community with a particular commitment to youth. He has worked for the City of Salinas for 12 years as their Community Safety Program Manager, Community Safety Administrator and Assistant to the City Manager. King City CHP is searching for person of interest who fled the scene of a fatal crash in Greenfield

On Monday, September 16 at approximately 3:50 pm, a fatal traffic collision occurred on Metz Road south of Elm Avenue in Greenfield.  The driver who caused the collision fled on foot and is currently outstanding.  The California Highway Patrol King City Area is currently seeking the whereabouts of 31-year-old Agustin Santana-Moncada of King City who has been identified as a person of interest in the case.  The King City Area is requesting assistance from the public in locating Santana-Moncada.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the King City Area office at (831) 385-3216.
