Becker’s Hospital Review Recognizes Mee Memorial as One of 27 Critical Access Hospitals to Know in 2024

KING CITY, Calif., June 7, 2024 — Mee Memorial has been recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of “27 critical access hospitals to know in 2024.”

The list includes critical access hospitals across the US, describing them as: "Vital components of the overall healthcare delivery system, providing quality care to the residents and visitors of rural areas. These small but mighty organizations are working to expand access to specialty care, cut down on patient travel times, and improve community health."

The review included the following about Mee Memorial: "The hospital has been enhancing its service offerings through the renovation of its emergency and diagnostic imaging departments, and through the addition of a pediatric health and wellness center. The organization is also focused on community outreach, engaging the broader community with diabetes education and initiatives because diabetes has been pinpointed as a significant community concern. Mee Memorial Healthcare System has also been chosen to participate in the Rural Healthcare Provider Transition Project, which will prepare it for alternative payment and care delivery models."

While compiling this list, the Becker’s editorial team examined rankings and awards from several respected organizations, including Healthgrades, the National Rural Health Association and the Chartis Center for Rural Health.

"We are honored to receive this recognition from Becker’s," said Mee Memorial Chief Executive Officer Rena Salamacha. "To be highlighted by such a respected publication underscores our commitment to provide the best possible healthcare to our community. It is not just a testament to our hospital, but to our employees, providers and physicians. Their unwavering dedication and heartfelt compassion have made this possible."

Becker's Hospital Review is a leading national healthcare publication and trusted source of information and news for healthcare professionals and leaders. It is one of the fastest-growing media platforms in the industry.
