WASHINGTON, DC – On Tuesday, April 16 U.S. Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren announced that the cities of Morgan Hill and Salinas will receive $16,200,050 from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to improve roadway safety.
“Our roads provide vital connections and ensure residents can safely access jobs, schools, stores, and more. This important funding will help the cities of Morgan Hill and Salinas improve road conditions and advance safety plans. I’m proud to have worked on and voted for the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law under the Democratic majority in the last Congress to invest in sound infrastructure projects like these that will help make our roads safer,” said Rep. Zoe Lofgren.
Rep. Lofgren announced the following grants:
$16,000,000 to the City of Salinas to reduce traffic congestion and improve safety along Williams Road.
$200,050 to the City of Morgan Hill to develop a comprehensive safety action plan.
This funding is part of the DOT’s Safe Streets for All (SS4A) grant program, which supports the planning and implementation of safety action plans to address roadway safety issues.
The DOT funding was provided by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which Rep. Lofgren voted in favor of.
