California Rodeo Salinas and Big Week Bull Riding Tickets Go on Sale May 2 at 10 am!

 

SALINAS, CA, April 23, 2024 – Tickets for the California Rodeo Salinas July 18-21 and the Big Week Bull Riding July 17, 2024, go on sale Thursday, May 2nd at 10 am at carodeo.com. Additionally, the ticket office will open for walk-up sales from May 2 to May 5, between 10 am and 5 pm. After this period, tickets will continue to be available exclusively online until the ticket office reopens for the summer season on June 20 and remains operational until the end of the Rodeo.


 


The Big Week Bull Riding, presented by Salinas Valley Ford, is a part of the Xtreme Bulls Tour featuring top bull riders from the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. Tickets start at $10 (+ fees) for select children’s (ages 2-12) grandstand seats, $30 (+ fees) for adult upper grandstand tickets, $40 for adult lower grandstand seats, and $55 (+ fees) for box seats (all ages) varying by location.


 


The California Rodeo Salinas, known as the largest rodeo in California and ranked in the top 15 in the United States among over 600 professional rodeos, celebrates its 114th year of tradition in 2014. The event attracts over 600 skilled cowboys and cowgirls competing in various events, including women’s breakaway roping, barrel racing, steer wrestling, bull riding, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, team roping, and tie-down roping. The entertainment lineup includes trick riders, freestyle bullfights, and local mutton busters on the track surrounding the arena. Tickets start at $7 (+ fees) for children ages 2-12 and $15 (+ fees) for adults. Box seats start at $28 (+fees) for all ages; inquire with tickets@carodeo.com for availability.


 


Entry passes for the Coors Banquet Bull Xing Cantina on Wednesday, July 17 and Friday, July 19 will also go on sale May 2nd at 10 am, exclusively online at carodeo.com. The Bull Xing entry combined with the Big Week Bull Riding (July 17) or California Rodeo Salinas (July 19) is a combination ticket limited to 5 per order, priced at $55 (+ fees) for July 17 and $40 (+ fees) for July 19th. This includes general admission (with a seat) to the event and admission into the Coors Banquet Bull Xing Cantina. Tickets are already available online for Monster Jam on May 5, the Big Week Kick Off Concert featuring Keith Urban on July 12 and the Concierto Baile de Salinas featuring Los Tucanes de Tijuana, El Fantasma, and Chiquis on July 13. You can find details about the separate ticketed after-parties following the July 12 and July 13 concerts on the event pages at carodeo.com. Those event tickets will be available for walk-up sales between April 22 (closed April 27 and 28) and May 5 from 10 am to 5 pm. After this period, tickets will continue to be available exclusively online until the ticket office reopens for the summer season on June 20 and remains operational until the end of the Rodeo.

Lake San Antonio Closed Due to Large Scale Fish Die Off; Number of Fish Impacted is Increasing and Reason for Die Off Remains Unknown

July 9, 2024- Out of abundance of caution for public health, County of Monterey Parks is closing the Lake San Antonio facility due to a large-scale fish die off from an unknown cause. On July 5, 2024, Parks staff noticed that dead baitfish, mostly shad, began washing up on the shore around Lake San Antonio and immediately contacted California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) to report the situation. At that time, the CDFW fisheries biologist stated the fish die off was most likely due to the high temperatures and low dissolved oxygen level in the water and that the situation most likely did not present a risk to the public. Suspect Vehicle in King City Quadruple Homicide on March 3 Has Been Located

  The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, on behalf of the King City Police Department is informing the community that the suspect vehicle involved in a quadruple homicide that occurred Sunday, March 3 on the 200 block of North Second Street in King City, has been located and recovered.  The vehicle was located in an unincorporated area of South Monterey County. The King City Police Department is receiving assistance from multiple local and federal law enforcement partners in this investigation. Based on the nature of this investigation, no further details regarding the recovery of this vehicle are being released at this time.   The Monterey County Sheriff's Office and the King City PD are asking the community for their assistance in reporting any information they may know regarding this incident which tragically left 4 people dead and 7 people injured, two with critical injuries. Attempted Homicide Shooting Incident in King City on September 29

  The King City Police Department received a report of gunshots heard in the area of the 600 block of Sycamore Street at around 1 am on Sunday, September 29. While enroute, the King City PD was advised that 2 victims were transported to Mee Memorial Hospital by private vehicle to be treated for gunshot wounds.   Upon arrival, officers were told that a single unknown suspect opened the gate to a fenced yard and fired 10 rounds into a crowd attending a party. 2 individuals were struck by the gunfire, after-which the suspect fled on foot.  The suspect was described as wearing a dark colored hoodie and pants. The 2 victims are a 16-year-old juvenile male who was shot 3 times and an 18-year-old male who was shot 1 time.  Both victims were transported to Natividad Hospital from Mee Memorial and are currently listed in stable condition. Detectives from the King City Police Department are currently working the investigation with assistance from the Greenfield Police Department Crime Scene Unit
