Maddie & Tae to Perform at the 2024 Salinas Valley Fair in King City on May 18!

 

KING CITY, CA – The Salinas Valley Fair is excited to be celebrating the 80th annual Salinas Valley Fair May 16-19, 2024 at

the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds, 625 Division Street.

Maddie & Tae, an award-winning duo, is scheduled to perform at the Salinas Valley Fair on Saturday, May 18. Their

unbreakable bond, honest songwriting and “some of the tightest harmonies on Music Row” (Rolling Stone) are

channeled into their new collection of songs Through The Madness Vol. 2, out now. The pair, Maddie Font and Taylor

Kerr, drew praise for their Gold-certified The Way It Feels album, including the Double Platinum-certified No. 1 hit, “Die

From A Broken Heart” – topping the Country Airplay Charts, Maddie & Tae became the first and only female twosome

with multiple No. 1s. In 2013, “Girl In A Country Song” took country radio by storm, establishing them as only the third

female duo in 70 years to top the Country Airplay Charts. “Woman You Got” recently took home Group/Duo Video of

the Year at the CMT Music Awards. Maddie & Tae have earned trophies from Radio Disney Music Awards, CMA Awards,

ACM, Billboard, and CMT Award nominations. The celebrated duo has toured with Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley,

and Brad Paisley.

“We are looking forward to offering a headlining entertainment piece to the Salinas Valley Fair,” states Lauren Hamilton,

Salinas Valley Fair CEO. “The Fair enjoyed Dylan Scott in 2023, and we are thrilled to be offering the Maddie & Tae

concert at our Stampede Arena for the Salinas Valley community this year,” continued Hamilton. The Salinas Valley Fair

Board is looking forward to Maddie & Tae’s high-energy and family-friendly performance to provide attendees of this

year’s Fair.

Tickets to Maddie & Tae will be $40 for general seating and $75 for a front stage ticket and are available for purchase

online March 15 through May 17 – visit www.salinasvalleyfair.com for more information. Tickets will be available at

the gates for $55 prior to the concert on May 18th. Fair admission is not included in the purchase of a concert ticket.

Admission to the Fair is $12 for adults (18+ years of age), $8 for seniors (60+ years of age), $8 for youth (6-17 years of

age), and free for children (5 years of age or younger). Special days include: Kids’ Holaday Thursday, May 16, where all

children 12 years of age and younger receive free admission; Senior Day Friday, May 17 where all adults 60 years of age

and older receive free admission; Armed Forces Day Saturday, May 18th, which provides free admission to all military

personnel, military contractors, and military dependents with military ID. Fair pre-sale tickets are $32 for four and $30

save-on carnival wristbands will be available for purchase at the Salinas Valley Fair Office now until Wednesday, May

15. Parking is available for $20.

Activities and community fun at the 2024 Salinas Valley Fair are set to begin Thursday, May 16 at 11:00am and

continue through Sunday, May 19 at 10:30pm. In addition to Maddie & Tae, the Salinas Valley Fair will provide four

days of family-friendly entertainment across the Fairgrounds, music on the Steinbeck Stage, as well as the Junior

Livestock Auction – to be held Saturday, May 18 at 8:00am. Fair food favorites, 21+ beverages, and dancing in the Long

Branch Saloon are available daily.

July 9, 2024- Out of abundance of caution for public health, County of Monterey Parks is closing the Lake San Antonio facility due to a large-scale fish die off from an unknown cause. On July 5, 2024, Parks staff noticed that dead baitfish, mostly shad, began washing up on the shore around Lake San Antonio and immediately contacted California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) to report the situation. At that time, the CDFW fisheries biologist stated the fish die off was most likely due to the high temperatures and low dissolved oxygen level in the water and that the situation most likely did not present a risk to the public. Suspect Vehicle in King City Quadruple Homicide on March 3 Has Been Located

  The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, on behalf of the King City Police Department is informing the community that the suspect vehicle involved in a quadruple homicide that occurred Sunday, March 3 on the 200 block of North Second Street in King City, has been located and recovered.  The vehicle was located in an unincorporated area of South Monterey County. The King City Police Department is receiving assistance from multiple local and federal law enforcement partners in this investigation. Based on the nature of this investigation, no further details regarding the recovery of this vehicle are being released at this time.   The Monterey County Sheriff's Office and the King City PD are asking the community for their assistance in reporting any information they may know regarding this incident which tragically left 4 people dead and 7 people injured, two with critical injuries. Attempted Homicide Shooting Incident in King City on September 29

  The King City Police Department received a report of gunshots heard in the area of the 600 block of Sycamore Street at around 1 am on Sunday, September 29. While enroute, the King City PD was advised that 2 victims were transported to Mee Memorial Hospital by private vehicle to be treated for gunshot wounds.   Upon arrival, officers were told that a single unknown suspect opened the gate to a fenced yard and fired 10 rounds into a crowd attending a party. 2 individuals were struck by the gunfire, after-which the suspect fled on foot.  The suspect was described as wearing a dark colored hoodie and pants. The 2 victims are a 16-year-old juvenile male who was shot 3 times and an 18-year-old male who was shot 1 time.  Both victims were transported to Natividad Hospital from Mee Memorial and are currently listed in stable condition. Detectives from the King City Police Department are currently working the investigation with assistance from the Greenfield Police Department Crime Scene Unit
