Road and Lane Closures on Highway 101 and Arroyo Seco Road in South Monterey County Along with Harkins Road and Hunter Lane in Salinas and Spreckels for the Week of December 10
MONTEREY COUNTY – Here are the major scheduled road and lane closures for Monterey County from Sunday, December 10 through Saturday, December 16.
Highway 101: Soledad Prison: December 16
Traffic control breaks will occur along northbound and southbound Highway 101 at Soledad Prison for utility work from 5 am – 1 pm.
Highway 101: Elm Street: December 11
There will be closure of the right shoulder along northbound Highway 101 at Elm Street for miscellaneous work along the highway from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
Highway 101: Esperanza Road – Somavia Road: December 11 – December 15
One lane and shoulder closure will occur along northbound Highway 101 between Esperanza Road and Somavia Road for drainage work from 9 am to 3 pm.
Highway 101: North Bradley: December 10 – December 15
One lane closure will occur along northbound Highway 101 100 feet just north and south of the North Bradley Overcrossing for work on the bridge from 6:30 pm to 7 am.
Highway 101: State Route 58 – San Ardo: December 12 – December 14
A moving lane closure will occur along northbound and southbound Highway 101 in San Luis Obispo County to San Ardo in Monterey County for spraying operation work from 9 am. to 3 pm.
Highway 101: Camp Roberts Rest Area: Now – December 28
There will be full of the northbound Camp Roberts rest area for emergency repair work.
Salinas – Spreckels: Harkins Road & Hunter Lane: Long - Term
There will be temporary lane closures and one lane reversible traffic controls along Harkins Road and Hunter lane for pavement work beginning Monday, October 16, 2023. The work hours are 7:00 am to 5:00 p.m., with occasional nighttime work. The Harkins Road work will be located from the City of Salinas limits to Fifth Street in Spreckels. The Hunter Lane work will be taking place from State Route 68 to Harkins Road.
Arroyo Seco Road: September - December
Repair work along Arroyo Seco Road in south Monterey County will begin in September to repair damage that occurred during the heavy rains and flooding in March. The repair work will occur at mile post 2.5 and at mile post 4.2. The road is open to residents who live along that portion of road, and they will be allowed access in and out of the area. Once the repair work is completed, it will allow for the reopening of Arroyo Seco Campground, which was closed by the US Forest Service.
