Road and Lane Closures on Highway 101 in South Monterey County for the Week of August 27

 

MONTEREY COUNTY –Here are the major scheduled road and lane closures for Monterey County from Sunday,  August 27 through Saturday,  September 2. 


Highway 101: Wild Horse Road – Jolon Road: August 28 – August 30

One moving lane closure will occur along northbound and southbound Highway 101 between Wild Horse Road and Jolon Road for sweeping operation work from 6 am to 4 pm.


Highway 101: Canal Street - Broadway: August 28 – August 31

One-way traffic controls and lane closures will occur along Canal Street and Broadway in King City for landscaping and pavement work from 8:30 am to 4 pm.


Highway 101: Canal Street: August 28 – August 31

There will be full closure of the on and off ramps of northbound Highway 101 at Canal Street for utility work from 8 am to 4 pm.


Highway 101: First Street – Jolon Road: August 28 – August 31

There will alternating lane closures on northbound and southbound Highway 101, as well as full closure of the northbound and southbound on and off ramps of Highway 101 between First Street and Jolon Road for guardrail work from 8 am to 4 pm. There will also be alternating lane closures along First Street from 9 am to 3 pm.


Highway 101:  Northbound Camp Roberts Rest Area: Long-Term

There will be full closure of the Camp Roberts Rest Area on northbound  Highway 101 for work to upgrade the facility from 10 am to 12 pm.


Please keep in mind that construction work is weather-dependent.

Suspect Vehicle in King City Quadruple Homicide on March 3 Has Been Located

  The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, on behalf of the King City Police Department is informing the community that the suspect vehicle involved in a quadruple homicide that occurred Sunday, March 3 on the 200 block of North Second Street in King City, has been located and recovered.  The vehicle was located in an unincorporated area of South Monterey County. The King City Police Department is receiving assistance from multiple local and federal law enforcement partners in this investigation. 3 Vehicle Accident on Highway 101 in Soledad on December 7

  A 3 vehicle crash ocurred on Highway 101 Southbound near the Front Street exit in Soledad at 4:01 pm on Thursday afternoon, December 7. Minor injuries were reported as a result of the collision. 

1 Vehicle Rollover Outside of King City on October 20

  1 vehicle overturned off of County Road 18 and Frudden Road outside of King City at 2:34 pm on Friday afternoon, October 20. 1 occupant received injuries as a result of the crash and ended up being transported to Natividad Medical Center in Salinas to be treated. The cause of the wreck is unknown.
