Road and Lane Closures in South Monterey County on Highway 101 for the Week of August 20

 

MONTEREY COUNTY – Here are the major scheduled road and lane closures for South Monterey County from Sunday, August 20 through Saturday, August 26. 


Highway 101: Main Street/Chualar Street: August 21 – August 25

One-way traffic controls will be in place along eastbound and westbound Main Street/Chualar Street at the Grant Street intersection and at the southbound off ramp of Highway 101 to Main Street for striping operations work from 9 pm to 6 am. 


 


Highway 101:  Thorne Road Southbound Off Ramp: August 21

There will be full closure of the off ramp of southbound Highway 101 at Thorne Road for grinding and paving work from 8 am to 3 pm.


 


Highway 101: Soledad Overhead: August 21 – August 23 

Alternating lane closures will occur along northbound Highway 101 at the Soledad Overhead for sign work from       8 am to 4 pm. 


 


Highway 101:  Soledad Prison: August 22

There will be full closure of the off ramp of southbound Highway 101 at Soledad Prison for grinding and paving work from 8 am to 3 pm.


 


Highway 101: Canal Street - Broadway: August 21 – August 25

One-way traffic controls and lane closures will occur along Canal Street and Broadway in King City for landscaping and pavement work from 8:30 am to 4 pm.


 


Highway 101: Canal Street – Jolon Road: August 21 – August 25

There will also be full closure of the northbound and southbound on and off ramps of Highway 101 at Canal Street and Jolon Road for miscellaneous work from 8 am to 4 pm.


 


Highway 101:  Camp Roberts Rest Areas: Long-Term

There will be full closure of the Camp Roberts Rest Areas on northbound and southbound Highway 101 for work to upgrade the facility from 10 am to 12 pm. 



Please keep in mind that construction work is weather-dependent.

Suspect Vehicle in King City Quadruple Homicide on March 3 Has Been Located

  The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, on behalf of the King City Police Department is informing the community that the suspect vehicle involved in a quadruple homicide that occurred Sunday, March 3 on the 200 block of North Second Street in King City, has been located and recovered.  The vehicle was located in an unincorporated area of South Monterey County. The King City Police Department is receiving assistance from multiple local and federal law enforcement partners in this investigation. Based on the nature of this investigation, no further details regarding the recovery of this vehicle are being released at this time.   The Monterey County Sheriff's Office and the King City PD are asking the community for their assistance in reporting any information they may know regarding this incident which tragically left 4 people dead and 7 people injured, two with critical injuries. 3 Vehicle Accident on Highway 101 in Soledad on December 7

  A 3 vehicle crash ocurred on Highway 101 Southbound near the Front Street exit in Soledad at 4:01 pm on Thursday afternoon, December 7. Minor injuries were reported as a result of the collision. 

1 Vehicle Rollover Outside of King City on October 20

  1 vehicle overturned off of County Road 18 and Frudden Road outside of King City at 2:34 pm on Friday afternoon, October 20. 1 occupant received injuries as a result of the crash and ended up being transported to Natividad Medical Center in Salinas to be treated. The cause of the wreck is unknown.
