Paso Robles City Council Updates Downtown Parking Program; Two Free Hours Of Parking Per Day to Continue, New Mobile App Forthcoming

 

Paso Robles, CA, - On February 21, 2023, the Paso Robles City Council approved updates to the

downtown parking program which will take effect March 1, 2023.
The following is a summary of the updates:

All patrons will be provided two free hours of parking per day (a license plate must be
entered prior to receiving free parking);

The rate will increase to $2 per hour after the free two hours; which reflects an increase
of $1 per hour from the previous rate;

A new mobile app will be launched to replace the WaytoPark app; existing WaytoPark
users will be notified of how to transfer account information to the new app once it is
launched;

Customers can pay or start their parking sessions using:

o The new Flowbird mobile application or

o The new Pay by Text feature (no app needed) or

o Any of the 34 pay stations (Cash is accepted at 3 pay stations in Downtown)

All downtown parking signs will be updated with the new information;

How to guides and videos are being created and will be released to the public to assist
with commonly asked questions regarding use of the mobile application, kiosks and
parking locations (free, paid, permit).

There are no proposed changes to the Senior Downtown Parking Permit Program at this time.
The annual Senior Downtown Parking Permits will go on sale starting March 1st. Seniors 65 and
older can purchase a permit for $30 per year. Permits are valid from April 1st March 31st.
With the Senior Permit, seniors can park in any paid parking space Downtown without payment.

Senior permit requirements:

Must be 65 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license

Must be a Paso Robles resident (within City limits)

Must be the registered owner of the vehicle

Must not be a Downtown employee or business owner

Limited to 500 permits annually

Limited to 1 permit per household (1 vehicle)
Completed applications must be turned in before April 30th

Senior Downtown Parking Permit applications will be available at the following locations
starting March 1st:

Paso Robles Police Department

Paso Robles Senior Center

Paso Robles Library

Monterey County DA Releases Preliminary Information Concerning an Officer Involved Shooting Incident that Occurred Outside of Soledad on December 16

  SALINAS, California- Monterey County District Attorney Jeannine M. Pacioni on December 19 released preliminary information concerning the officer involved shooting (OIS) which occurred at about 1:20 a.m. outside the city of Soledad on December 16, 2025. Just before 1:00 a.m., Monterey County Sheriff’s Deputy Carlos Pina, who has been a peace officer for 10 years all with MCSO, and Deputy Blain Councilman, each in separate patrol cars, were dispatched to 32097 McCoy Road. King City City Council Announces Selection of José Arreola as New City Manager

  January 7, 2025-Following an extensive recruitment process, José Arreola has been selected by the King City City Council to be its next City Manager. Arreola will replace Steve Adams, who is retiring after serving in the position for the past 10 years. Arreola was selected from 31 applicants and 8 finalists for the position. The King City City Council will formally consider the proposed city manager contract at its meeting on Tuesday night, January 13.
