The Monterey CHP reports that a 26-year-old male from King City has died as a result of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision in Greenfield on Saturday night, December 17. Officers were paged to southbound Highway 101 and south of Teague Avenue at 9:38 p.m. and discovered that 32-year-old Nathaniel Lugo of King City was driving a 2020 Tesla Model 3 at 70 MPH on southbound US-101 and south of Teague Avenue when he hit an unknown object on the left hand lane. Officers stated that Lugo pulled his car over to the right hand shoulder and looked at a video recorder in his vehicle noticing that he had struck a pedestrian.
