Monterey County Sheriff’s Office Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement (S.A.F.E.) Team Tracks Down Sex Offender Living Near a School in Soledad

Recently, the Investigations Division became aware of a sex offender who was registering as a transient with the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office but appeared to be living in the city of Soledad.

The Sheriff’s Office S.A.F.E. team started an investigation at that time into 56-year-old Brent Van Foresee of Soledad. The investigation revealed Foresee was not living as a transient, but was living on the 900 block of Las Flores Street in the city of Soledad.

During the week of November 13 S.A.F.E. team members along with additional members of the Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division arrested Foresee, and served a search warrant at his residence. Initially, Foresee attempted to flee from detectives. However, he was quickly caught and arrested without incident. The search of Foresee’s residence revealed a large amount of evidence proving Foresee lived at the residence.

Foresee was booked into the Monterey County Jail for failing to register as a sex offender and providing false information during sex offender registration. Foresee’s bail was set at $10,000.00.

Anyone with information about a sex offender that may be out of compliance is encouraged to call Detective David Gonzalez at 831-755-3811 or Detective Sergeant David Vargas at 831-755-3773.

The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement Team is a state funded team, specializing in tracking sex offenders to ensure they are in compliance with their requirements to register as a sex offender. The Sheriff’s Office S.A.F.E. team will investigate a sex offender in any municipality within Monterey County, to ensure they are in compliance with their sex offender requirements.
