Woman Detained for Aiding and Abetting Suspect in December 2021 Triple Homicide Incident in King City

On Sunday, December 26, 2021, the King City Police Department began an investigation into the

homicides of Carlos Manuel Lopez Sanchez, Selena Gonzalez Godoy, and Godoy’s unborn child.

Although arrests have been made of all parties suspected to be involved in the actual

commission of the homicides, detectives continued reviewing investigative materials to

determine if members of the public aided and abetted any known suspect in their ability to

avoid arrest.  Recently, detectives developed probable cause to believe that 25-year-old Jazmin Matilda Aviles a female resident of King City, aided and abetted a known suspect in this

investigation to avoid arrest. Detectives then obtained a search warrant authorized by a judge

of the Monterey County Superior Court upon development of probable cause for Aviles’

residence on the 400 block of Amanda Lane in King City.

On October 12, 2022, at 7:55 am, officers from the King City Police

Department with assistance from the Parole Division of the California Department of

Corrections Parole Division located and arrested Aviles in King City for her role in aiding and

abetting after the fact a known suspect in the homicides to avoid arrest.  Aviles was then

booked into the Monterey County Jail for a violation of PC 32.  Officers shortly thereafter

executed the search warrant for Aviles residence on the 400 block of Amanda Lane in King City.

The King City Police Department would like to thank the California Department of Corrections

Parole Division for their assistance during this operation. Anyone with further information

regarding this case is encouraged to contact Detective Juan Rodriguez at 831‐386‐5922 or

jrodriguez@kingcity.com, or the WeTip line at 1‐800‐78‐CRIME. Your call may remain
