San Lorenzo Park RV Campground to Reopen on November 1

The San Lorenzo Park RV Campground in King City,

which served as an Alternate Housing site supporting

COVID-19 recovery in Monterey County for more than

two years, will reopen to the public on Tuesday, November 1,

2022.

This area played an important role for the County and

residents during the pandemic, helping hundreds of

residents safely recover and reduce the spread of the

virus in our community.

The park was closed for public use and RV and other

camping in April of 2020. The day use portion of the

park was reopened on July 1, 2021. The Alternate

Housing program, which sectioned off the entire RV

camping section of the park, ended earlier this year and

the trailers which had been used for the housing program

were removed in August.

This camping area is very popular with travelers and has

undergone repairs and renovations in preparation for

reopening. The shower building has been updated and all

picnic tables have been repaired and painted. Additional

work that has been done includes:

• Replacement of select charcoal BBQs

• Replanting and clean-up of putting green

• Landscaping around campground restroom

• Rebuilding of horseshoe pits and other amenities

To reserve a spot, go to: https://secure.rec1.com/CA/monterey-county-ca/catalog.

The San Lorenzo Park RV area is part of the County of Monterey Park System. It has 25 full

hook-up sites (water, electric and sewer), 69 partial hook-up sites (water and electric only) and a

dump station available for campers use. For more information about camping and park use, call

(831) 755-4895 or email parks@co.monterey.ca.us.
