On Monday evening, October 24 the Greenfield Police Department was contacted by administrators of Greenfield High School about a threat made by a 14-year-old student in which the student threatened to shoot a staff member and then “shoot the school.”
Greenfield Police Detectives were notified and took over the investigation. A search warrant was approved by a Monterey County Superior Court judge for the student’s home. Luckily, no weapons were found, while the student was taken into custody for threatening a school staff member and for threatening violence against a school. The student is currently in juvenile hall.
The Greenfield Police Department strives to keep their community safe, and especially their students at school. Any threat of school violence will be investigated to the fullest extent of the law.
The Greenfield PD thanks to the Monterey County Sheriff's Office and the King City - CHP for the their assistance.
