According to Salinas Valley State Prison an investigation is underway involving the death of 64-year-old inmate Robert Tunstall as a possible homicide that happened on Wednesday, October 5. SVSP officials report that Tunstall was attacked by another inmate at 8:50 a.m. Staff said after they gave orders to stop the attack and began to perform life-saving measures, but Tunstall was pronounced dead at 9:21 a.m. Investigators say they have recovered an inmate-made weapon and have notified the Monterey County Coroner's office who will determine Tunstall's official cause of death. Tunstall was admitted to Solano County on December 23 of 1976 to serve life with the possibility of parole for first-degree murder. 42-year-old Lawrence Adams has been identified as a suspect who may have murdered Tunstall.
