Man in Greenfield Sustains Major Injuries in Hit and Run Accident on July 22


 On Friday, July 22 at 4:45 P.M., Greenfield Police Officers were dispatched to a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic accident on the 1100 block of Elm Avenue. 

As officers responded, callers reported that the vehicle fled from the scene, and the victim was laying on the roadway.  As officers arrived on the scene, they located the victim, a 21-year-old male who was suffering from major head injuries. 

The Greenfield Fire Department and American Medical Response arrived on the scene, stabilized the patient, and transported him to a local trauma center where he underwent emergency surgery. 

Officers of the Soledad Police Department responded to Greenfield to assist with locating the suspected vehicle. With help from witnesses and city cameras, officers identified and located the suspected vehicle, which was parked nearby. The driver was not located.

An investigation determined that officers identified 34-year-old, Alfonso Benito Herrera as the driver of the vehicle at the time of the accident. Attempts to locate Herrera have been unsuccessful, and an arrest warrant has been issued. 

Herrera is described as a Hispanic male adult, 5’4”, 140 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes. If you see Herrera, do not approach him and call 911.

Suspect Vehicle in King City Quadruple Homicide on March 3 Has Been Located

  The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, on behalf of the King City Police Department is informing the community that the suspect vehicle involved in a quadruple homicide that occurred Sunday, March 3 on the 200 block of North Second Street in King City, has been located and recovered.  The vehicle was located in an unincorporated area of South Monterey County. King City Man Arrested on January 6 for Rape, Unlawful Sexual Intercourse with a Minor and Kidnapping

  According to King City Police Department, on December 30, 2024 a 17-year-old minor female victim reported that she had attended a party on the 100 Block of Bedford Circle on December 24, 2024. During the party, the suspect provided her with alcohol. He then pulled the victim into a bedroom, forcibly removed her clothing and had sexual intercourse with her against her will. This case was investigated by the King City Police Department Investigations Unit which resulted in the apprehension and arrest on January 6, 2025 of the suspect identified as 21-year-old Jesus Oseguera Briseno of King City. Briseno was also booked into the Monterey County Jail charged with Rape, Unlawful Sexual Intercourse with a Minor and Kidnapping.
