2 Men Were Arrested on February 11 on Firearms Charges in Greenfield; Felony Charges Recommended after Ammunition is Found During Probation Compliance Check of Juvenile in Greenfield

On Friday evening, February 11 the Greenfield and Soledad Police Departments teamed up for a Super Bowl weekend crime suppression detail in Greenfield and Soledad. While in Greenfield, officers contacted 20-year-old Angel Rivera of Greenfield and 18-year-old Victor Torres of Salinas on the 200 block of Tawny Port Way. Officers found three firearms that included two Glock-style 9mm “ghost” guns, and a .40 caliber Smith and Wesson semiautomatic handgun. In addition, two gun magazines were also located, one of which was an extended magazine. Both men were arrested and booked into the Monterey County Jail on multiple firearms related charges. As the crime suppression detail continued, officers conducted a probation compliance check in Greenfield, at the home of a juvenile on felony probation. During a search of the juvenile’s bedroom, .40 caliber ammunition was found. The juvenile was not home at the time and the case was forwarded to the Monterey County Probation Department, and the District Attorney’s Office for recommendation of felony charges. Several arrests were also made and citations were issued in Soledad for DUI, driving with suspended licenses, and outstanding warrants. Anyone wishing to report illegal activity can call the non-emergency phone number at 831-385-8311 or 911.
