State supported COVID-19 testing sites in Monterey County add additional days and appointment times; The increase is to accommodate the demand for testing.

Monterey County’s State supported community testing sites located in Seaside, Salinas and Soledad are expanding hours in response to demand Salinas site located at Sherwood Hall will be open from 8 am to 8 pm 7 days a week starting Tuesday, January 25th Seaside site located at the Salvation Army’s Community Center will be open Monday through Saturday from 8 am to 8 pm starting this Saturday, January 22nd Soledad site located at Soledad Library is changing hours to 8 am to 8 pm still open Tuesday through Saturday with additional staff to increase availability beginning Tuesday, January 25th Appointments are strongly recommended. Walk-ins are taken as supplies allow. Appointments may be made by visiting https://lhi.care/covidtesting or individuals may call 211 for assistance in making appointments. There has been a high number of no shows for appointments at all three sites. If you cannot make an appointment, please cancel it. This allows others to find testing appointments more easily.

Suspect Vehicle in King City Quadruple Homicide on March 3 Has Been Located

  The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, on behalf of the King City Police Department is informing the community that the suspect vehicle involved in a quadruple homicide that occurred Sunday, March 3 on the 200 block of North Second Street in King City, has been located and recovered.  The vehicle was located in an unincorporated area of South Monterey County. The King City Police Department is receiving assistance from multiple local and federal law enforcement partners in this investigation. 3 Vehicle Accident on Highway 101 in Soledad on December 7

  A 3 vehicle crash ocurred on Highway 101 Southbound near the Front Street exit in Soledad at 4:01 pm on Thursday afternoon, December 7. Minor injuries were reported as a result of the collision. 

1 Vehicle Rollover Outside of King City on October 20

  1 vehicle overturned off of County Road 18 and Frudden Road outside of King City at 2:34 pm on Friday afternoon, October 20. 1 occupant received injuries as a result of the crash and ended up being transported to Natividad Medical Center in Salinas to be treated. The cause of the wreck is unknown.
