King City Police Department to Swear In Newly Appointed Police Captain at Council Meeting on September 28

The King City Police Department would like to announce the appointment of James Hunt as its new Police Captain. Police Chief Keith Boyd will be publicly administering the Oath of Office to James on Tuesday night, September 28, 2021, at 6:00 pm during a regularly scheduled meeting of the City Council at 212 South Vanderhurst Avenue, King City, CA. Captain Hunt comes to the King City Police Department with nearly 30 years of law enforcement experience. For the first 26 years of his career James served the residents of San Jose, CA as a member of the San Jose Police Department. During his time with San Jose, he worked assignments in Field Services, Investigations, and the Office of the Chief. At the conclusion of his career in San Jose, Captain Hunt took a position with the Greenfield Police Department in Greenfield, CA as a Police Captain in 2018. James served the community of Greenfield for the past 3 1⁄2 years prior to being selected for his new role in King City. During his tenure in Greenfield, in addition to serving as the Police Captain, he served as the Interim Police Chief for nearly 1 1⁄2 years. James possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Union Institute and University and a Master of Science degree in Law Enforcement and Public Safety Leadership from the University of San Diego. In addition, James is a graduate of the prestigious California Peace Officer Standards and Training Command College program. King City City Council Announces Selection of José Arreola as New City Manager

  January 7, 2025-Following an extensive recruitment process, José Arreola has been selected by the King City City Council to be its next City Manager. Arreola will replace Steve Adams, who is retiring after serving in the position for the past 10 years. Arreola was selected from 31 applicants and 8 finalists for the position. The King City City Council will formally consider the proposed city manager contract at its meeting on Tuesday night, January 13. King City CHP is searching for person of interest who fled the scene of a fatal crash in Greenfield

On Monday, September 16 at approximately 3:50 pm, a fatal traffic collision occurred on Metz Road south of Elm Avenue in Greenfield.  The driver who caused the collision fled on foot and is currently outstanding.  The California Highway Patrol King City Area is currently seeking the whereabouts of 31-year-old Agustin Santana-Moncada of King City who has been identified as a person of interest in the case.  The King City Area is requesting assistance from the public in locating Santana-Moncada.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the King City Area office at (831) 385-3216.
