On Monday, September 20 at approximately 12:30 am officers from the King City Police Department and the California Highway Patrol responded to a report of a male adult subject brandishing a firearm in the area of the 1000 block of Broadway Circle. While responding to the scene officers were updated that the person was using a tree branch to strike a male and female. Witnesses identified the suspect as 29-year-old Amansio Parra Carillo of King City and indicated that he had fled the area. When officers arrived on the scene they located a male adult who had been struck by the man multiple times while attempting to stop Carillo from harming a female. The adult male told officers he had witnessed Carillo attack the female victim and decided to intervene to prevent any further harm to the female victim. As the adult male was attempting to aid the female victim, Carillo grabbed a thick tree branch and used it to strike the adult
male multiple times causing injury. As officers arrived on the scene, Carillo fled into the riverbed area at which time officers with assistance from the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office and the Aviation Unit of the California Highway Patrol conducted an extensive search for Carillo and were unable to locate him. An “All-Points Bulletin” was issued to law enforcement agencies in the region and efforts to locate Carrillo continued. On Tuesday night, September 21 at approximately 9 pm Carillo was found by King City Police Officers on the 500 block of Canal Street and was arrested. Carillo was booked into the Monterey County Jail charged with domestic violence with injury, assault with a deadly weapon not a firearm, and two counts of domestic violence restraining order violations.

Parks staff also contacted the Water Resources Agency (WRA), State Water Resources Control Board and Environmental Health Bureau. Unfortunately, the fish die off has continued with larger species such as bass, catfish, crappie, carp, and trout being impacted. Attached photos include a 3–4-pound bass. CDFW, WRA and EHB are working together to try to determi
