SALINAS, CA, August 18, 2021 – Miss California Rodeo Salinas is a year round ambassador for the California Rodeo Salinas, traveling to rodeos, parades, community events and more to promote the largest rodeo in California. Young ladies travel from all over California to compete in personality and appearance, horsemanship and a scholastic contest. Miss California Rodeo Salinas 2019, Kelsee French, who graciously held the title for two years, will pass the title on to either Bridget Bowe, Miss Livermore FFA, or Emily Cullins, Miss Rodeo Norco.
The 2021 contest, sponsored by Holiday Inn Express & Suites, will be held two weeks prior to the California Rodeo this year, running September 10th-12th at the Salinas Sports Complex. The winner will be announced Sunday, September 12th and then return for Big Week festivities September 22nd at the Professional Bull Riding and September 23rd through 26th at the California Rodeo Salinas. The winner will receive a $2,500 cash scholarship to be used at the college of her choice, a gold and silver trophy belt buckle, the use of a two-horse trailer for one year, along with many other gifts and the privilege of wearing the Miss California Rodeo Salinas gold and silver tiara.

Bridget Bowe – Miss Livermore FFA
Entering as Miss Livermore FFA was natural for Bridget Bowe as some of her proudest achievements have occurred while exhibiting market lambs, goats, swine and cattle as a member of both 4-H and FFA organizations.
Growing up riding horses, raising livestock and spending time on her grandparent’s ranch in the hills of Livermore led her to taking multiple Agricultural classes in high school. It wasn’t long before the daughter of Peter and Linda Bowe knew that she wanted to pursue a degree in Agriculture Science. Bridget is on her way to becoming a high school Ag Teacher while currently attending Modesto Junior College.
When she is not in school she works for a performance horse trainer and has gained interest in reined cow horses and roping. Bridget continues to expand her horsemanship skills and she is working towards being in the roping pen soon. She also volunteers as a Co-Coordinator for the Miss Livermore Jr. Rodeo Queen. Her responsibilities include scheduling appearances, keeping her queen updated on her schedule and emphasizing the importance of gracious sponsors.
To this day, Bridget’s most gratifying accomplishment was exhibiting the Supreme Champion Market Goat and the Reserve Champion Market Steer at the Alameda County Fair in 2020. When she has downtime Bridget enjoys reading, working out and roping.
Emily Cullins – Miss Rodeo Norco
Proudly representing the Norco Mounted Posse Rodeo, Emily Cullins – Miss Rodeo Norco resides in the southern California town of Perris. The daughter of Chris and Sarah Cullins has a lifelong love of agriculture and has wanted to be a teacher since she was 5. She is currently in pursuit of an Agricultural Science degree with plans to obtain a teaching credential to become a high school agriculture teacher.
Outside of school and work she enjoys competing in reining, ranch riding, western pleasure, trail and hunter under saddle classes. Before school went online, Emily was the Western Horse Show Team Captain for Cal Poly Pomona and represented Cal Poly in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association in Open Horsemanship and Reining.
Growing up she was a member of 4-H and FFA; receiving a 4-H All Star Award and a FFA State Degree. Today she is giving back by being a 4-H leader and helping coach a FFA livestock show team.
One of Emily’s most notable awards is her collegiate MVP Horse Show team award, voted on by her peers. Emily works daily at a playschool for 3 to 6 years olds where she helps students with their school work, plays fun games and gives out warm hugs. Although she admits she is not good at it, Emily loves to crochet.
