SPCA Adult Cat Adoption Event is through August 1

Adopt the next furry, purry love of your life at the SPCA through Sunday, August 1st. During the event, SPCA Monterey County will waive the adoption fee for all cats one year and older. SPCA Monterey County is located at 1002 Monterey-Salinas Highway, across from WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Adoption hours are 11 am to 5 pm. Multiple studies have shown that the amount paid for an animal has no bearing on how that pet will be treated in the future and pets adopted at free adoption events have lower return rates than regular adoptions. “Right now, with dozens of playful kittens available for adoption, adult cats can sometimes get overshadowed,” says Beth Brookhouser, SPCA Vice President of Marketing and Communications. “This event helps shine a light on our wonderful adult cats patiently waiting for their new homes.” SPCA adoptions include the pet’s spay or neuter surgery, permanent microchip identification, vaccinations, SPCA ID tag, a health evaluation, and more. 1 Vehicle Rollover Outside of King City on October 20

  1 vehicle overturned off of County Road 18 and Frudden Road outside of King City at 2:34 pm on Friday afternoon, October 20. 1 occupant received injuries as a result of the crash and ended up being transported to Natividad Medical Center in Salinas to be treated. The cause of the wreck is unknown.
