Updated numbers from the Monterey County Health Department on Tuesday, December 29 report that confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the County are now at 26,752 people, while 172,706 people have been tested in the County. 8,343 of the cases are out of South Monterey County which include 1,409 in King City, 1,707 in Greenfield, 4,029 in Soledad, 919 in Gonzales, 76 in San Ardo, 139 in Chualar, 38 in San Lucas while 26 cases are from other cities or towns in South Monterey County. In addition, 6,774 are from person to person transmissions, 5,047 have come from community transmissions, 180 are currently hospitalized, 190 people have died, 12,934 people have recovered, 12,487 are under investigation and 3,122 people who work in Agriculture have come down with COVID-19.
