3 people Arrested in Paso Robles for Burglary, Vehicle Theft & Evading Police

PASO ROBLES, CA – On Saturday, March 28 at around 5 AM, a Paso Robles resident heard his garage door opening and went to investigate. The Resident located a Hispanic male adult near his vehicle. The male, later identified as 26-year-old Ricardo Magana, had opened the garage door and was attempting to get into the victim’s vehicle. During the confrontation, Magana ran back to a black Ford Edge that was waiting for him in front of the residence. The victim stated Magana got into the passenger seat and noticed a Hispanic female, later identified as 24-year-old Christina Rogers, in the driver’s seat. A juvenile was also seen in the backseat of the vehicle. The black Ford Edge fled the area at a high rate of speed. The juvenile was later identified as a 16-year-old female and was related to the involved parties.

Paso Robles Police Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. As the officer approached the driver, the vehicle fled. Officers again found the vehicle on a residential street just as the suspects were leaving the vehicle and fleeing on foot.  The vehicle was reported stolen out of Shafter, CA and the license plates were stolen from another vehicle in Paso Robles.

Magana, Rogers, and the juvenile were all located walking in the area a few hours later and arrested. They were later booked in the SLO County Jail charged with burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle, and evading police.

During the investigation it was learned that a fourth suspect was still outstanding. Officers identified and located 26-year-old Joel Nunez in front of a Wal Mart and placed him under arrest for his involvement. The 16-year-old was cited and released to her family

This vehicle might be associated with prior theft reports and officers are currently working on follow up investigations.

Parks staff also contacted the Water Resources Agency (WRA), State Water Resources Control Board and Environmental Health Bureau.   Unfortunately, the fish die off has continued with larger species such as bass, catfish, crappie, carp, and trout being impacted. Attached photos include a 3–4-pound bass.   CDFW, WRA and EHB are working together to try to determi
