A Greenfield High School teacher was arrested on Tuesday, February 4 after being accused of embezzlement. The King City Police Department said that they were advised of there possibly being an embezzlement reported on January 13, 2020. An investigation revealed that 51-year-old Adrienne Lara had medical notes that were fake or altered, allowing her to get funds illegally. Lara is facing charges of embezzlement, forgery, theft of public funds and altering medical records. The South Monterey County Joint Union High School District said that Lara has been put on administrative leave and will not be on campus while the charges are pending. District Superintendent, Brian Walker, stated that “The District has fully cooperated with law enforcement during their investigation, and will continue to do so as needed.
