At 11:03 p.m. on Sunday, January 26, the South Monterey County Fire Protection District (FPD) in cooperation with CAL FIRE responded to a call for a structure fire on Dixie Street in Bradley (Monterey County). The fire was reported to be a single-family dwelling. South Monterey County FPD responded with CAL FIRE, Camp Roberts Fire, American Medical Response, San Luis Ambulance, and the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office. There were 5 fire engines and a water tender along with 15 firefighters on the scene. Upon arrival, firefighters found a residence fully involved in flames. One person sustained burn injuries and was transported by air ambulance to a burn center in Fresno. Firefighters contained the fire to the structure of origin, while the fire was controlled within an hour, and crews remained on the scene for several hours due to extensive mop up. There were no firefighter injuries during the incident, while the residence is destroyed. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
