Road and Lane closures in South Monterey County



If you're going to be doing some commuting during the week of August 4, 2019 be aware that there are some major scheduled road and lane closures on 101 in South Monterey County in place.

Highway 101: East Garrison –  North San Miguel: August 5 –  August 9
Alternating lane closures are in place today until Friday along northbound and southbound Highway 101 between East Garrison and North San Miguel for pavement work from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Highway 101: Camp Roberts: August 5 – August 8
There is one lane closure that will be in effect tonight until Thursday night along northbound and southbound Highway 101 at Camp Roberts for nighttime paving work from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Highway 101: South Camp Roberts – East Garrison: Now  - August 30
There is one long-term lane closure now along the shoulders of southbound Highway 101 between South Camp Roberts and East Garrison for roadway excavation work until the end of the month. 

Highway 101: San Ardo – San Lucas: Now - December 31
One long-term lane closure is still in place until the end of the year along northbound and southbound.

Highway 101 between the Paris Valley Road overcrossing and the Rancho undercrossing in San Lucas for grinding and paving work.

Highway 101: Wild Horse – First Street, King City: Now – January 2020
One long-term lane closure is still in progress until Jaunary of next year along northbound and southbound Highway 101 between Wild Horse Road and First Street in King City for roadway excavation work from 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Please keep in mind that construction work is weather-dependent.

King City City Council Announces Selection of José Arreola as New City Manager

  January 7, 2025-Following an extensive recruitment process, José Arreola has been selected by the King City City Council to be its next City Manager. Arreola will replace Steve Adams, who is retiring after serving in the position for the past 10 years. Arreola was selected from 31 applicants and 8 finalists for the position. The King City City Council will formally consider the proposed city manager contract at its meeting on Tuesday night, January 13. Arreola's first day on the job is scheduled to be February 23.    José Arreola has a distinguished career of serving the community with a particular commitment to youth. King City CHP is searching for person of interest who fled the scene of a fatal crash in Greenfield

On Monday, September 16 at approximately 3:50 pm, a fatal traffic collision occurred on Metz Road south of Elm Avenue in Greenfield.  The driver who caused the collision fled on foot and is currently outstanding.  The California Highway Patrol King City Area is currently seeking the whereabouts of 31-year-old Agustin Santana-Moncada of King City who has been identified as a person of interest in the case.  The King City Area is requesting assistance from the public in locating Santana-Moncada.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the King City Area office at (831) 385-3216.
