Over 50 people were on hand for a vigil that took place in front of Mee Memorial Hospital in King City on Monday night, August 12. Registered nurses at Mee Memorial who are a part of the California Nurses Association put this vigil on to alert the community about patient care concerns that they have at the hospital ever since it was recently announced a few weeks ago that over 40 people have been laid off in other Departments. Hours after the vigil took place, CEO Mike Hutchinson of Mee Memorial announced on Tuesday morning, August 13 that he has agreed to hold a town hall with the community to answer any questions or concerns about what is happening at the hospital. An announcement will be made sometime during the week of August 12 with a time and date for the meeting.
