Fatal crash in Templeton

A fatal accident involving multiple vehicles occurred sometime after 10 pm on Wednesday night August 7 in the Templeton area. The CHP reports that 39-year-old Zi Tao Pan was driving his vehicle (2015 Honda Odyssey) eastbound on SR 46, while Federico Lopez Torres was driving Ramiro Valadez's vehicle (1997 Ford F-150) westbound on SR 46. Both vehicles were traveling towards the SR 41/SR 46 Intersection, known as the Cholame "Y". Pan entered the left turn lane to turn left in order to proceed northbound on SR 41 towards Fresno. As Pan was making a left hand turn within the intersection, he failed to observe the Ford approaching the intersection. Pan turned the Honda directly into the path of Torres who was unable to stop in time, colliding head-on. After the collision, both vehicles came to rest in a westerly direction on the north shoulder of SR 46 within the SR 41/SR 46 intersection. As a result of the collision, the right front passenger, of the Ford F-150, Casares, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Torres, Valadez, Mr. Pan, Li Qng, Michelle Pan, and Andy Pan were transported to Twin Cities Hospital by San Luis Ambulance and treated for their injuries. Franciso Silva was transported to Sierra Vista by CHP Helicopter H-70 and treated for his injuries. Xiuyu Yang was transported by San Luis Ambulance to Sierra Vista and treated for her injuries.

Parks staff also contacted the Water Resources Agency (WRA), State Water Resources Control Board and Environmental Health Bureau.   Unfortunately, the fish die off has continued with larger species such as bass, catfish, crappie, carp, and trout being impacted. Attached photos include a 3–4-pound bass.   CDFW, WRA and EHB are working together to try t...
