South Monterey County men arrested for Greenfield kidnapping incident

On Wednesday, May 22 Investigators from the Major Crimes Unit were able to execute arrest warrants on 22-year-old Esteban Aguilera in King City, 19-year-old Jose Andres Hernandez in Salinas, while the third suspect involved in this crime was incarcerated on unrelated charges during the execution of the arrest warrants and has been identified as 38-year-old Gustavo Rios Mora of Greenfield. The arrest warrant was served while he was in custody. Aguilera has been charged with kidnapping for ransom, false imprisonment, witness intimidation, assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury and committing a crime while out on bail, while Hernandez has been charged with kidnapping for ransom, false imprisonment, witness intimidation and assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury. Mora has been charged with kidnapping for ransom, false imprisonment; witness intimidation; assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury and committing a crime while out on bail. The arrests are related to a kidnapping incident that occurred in Greenfield in November of 2018 where the suspects removed victims from their respective residences by force. On December 19, 2018, Investigators from the Major Crimes Unit were contacted and assumed the investigation. Through the 6 month investigation Investigators were able to identify the people responsible for the crime. The ensuing investigation revealed that the suspects drove a vehicle to a residence of one of the victims where they were forced to get inside the vehicle and taken to a different residence, while inside the residence, both victims were physically assaulted. One of the victims was transported to the hospital via ambulance due to the injuries he sustained. No other information is being released at this time. 3 Vehicle Accident on Highway 101 in Soledad on December 7

  A 3 vehicle crash ocurred on Highway 101 Southbound near the Front Street exit in Soledad at 4:01 pm on Thursday afternoon, December 7. Minor injuries were reported as a result of the collision. 

1 Vehicle Rollover Outside of King City on October 20

  1 vehicle overturned off of County Road 18 and Frudden Road outside of King City at 2:34 pm on Friday afternoon, October 20. 1 occupant received injuries as a result of the crash and ended up being transported to Natividad Medical Center in Salinas to be treated. The cause of the wreck is unknown.
