SALINAS, California- Monterey County District Attorney Jeannine M. Pacioni announced on Friday, May 31 that on Thursday, May 30, 20-year-old Angel Vasquez of Madera, pled guilty to 8 counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, one count of oral copulation with a minor, and one count of violating a court order. There was a total of seven minor victims. The incidents occurred in South Monterey County between 2017 and 2018 as Vasquez engaged in sexual intercourse with seven minor females who were between 14-years-old to 17-years-old, when Vasquez was between 18 and 19 years of age. Vasquez impregnated four of the minors, however three of the minors had miscarriages. After Judge Mark E. Hood ordered Vasquez not to have any contact with the seven minors, Vazquez continued to contact three minors. Vasquez will be sentenced on July 18 and faces up to 4 years and 4 months in prison. In addition, he will be required to register as a sex offender.
The case was investigated by Detective Sergeant Hoskins and Deputy Galvan from the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, Officer Tyler from the Soledad Police Department, and Officer Mora from the Gonzales Police Department. The seven victims were assisted by District Attorney Victim Advocate Mayra Sandoval.
