At the Greenfield City Council meeting on Tuesday night, March 26 in the Council Chambers Mayor Lance Walker made a proclamation proclaiming the month of March as Women's History month. Mayor Walker also recognized several women who have done so much for the Greenfield community that included Marty Horton, Ashley Hubbard, Jessica Melgoza, Ann Rathbun, Dawn Vest, Mayor Pro-Tem Nely Martinez and a few others along with other women who were unable to attend the meeting. In other business, Jackie Gomez-Whiteley provided the Council with a Greenfield Police Operations Data Analysis report. Gomez-Whiteley indicated that the Greenfield PD is below the state average for violent crime, property crime and total crime. Gomez-Whitley also mentioned that according to a 2016 FBI uniformed crime data report the average response time involving the Greenfield Police Department to reach in progress crimes calls was 6.1 minutes. Many residents were also in attendance to voice their support of the Council's approval to adopt the voluntary discontinuance by City Staff of Round-Up/Glyphospate and replace it with more green alternatives.
