On Tuesday morning, March 12 at around 8:40 am, King City Police Officers responded to a non-injury accident off of San Antonio Drive and Metz Avenue with a vehicle on it's side. Upon the officer's arrival a blue Jeep was on it's left side blocking the Union Pacific Railroad Tracks at that intersection. The ensuing investigation revealed that a white Ford van was heading southbound on Metz Avenue stopping for the posted stop sign and then it continued through the intersection striking the blue Jeep as it was traveling westbound on San Antonio Drive causing it to flip onto it's side. Union Pacific Railroad was advised of the collision and blocked tracks. The tracks were blocked for 45 minutes while the investigation was conducted. The driver of the blue Jeep was the sole occupant and was transported by AMR Ambulance to a local Hospital as a precaution as she was complaining of pain, while the driver of the Ford van had no injuries. The King City Police Department reminds drivers of safe driving practices by paying attention to your surroundings and that you know your right of way. Anyone with further information regarding this case is encouraged to call the King City Police Department at (831)386-5980 and or the WeTip line at 1-800-78-CRIME.
