2 King City men booked for lewd acts with a child



On Thursday, November 29 at 3:25 pm Officers from the King City Police Department were dispatched to the 600 block of Meyer Street for a child abuse investigation. Upon the Officers arrival, the preliminary investigation revealed the victim, a 12 year old female, had been abused and Investigators from the Major Crimes Unit were called to investigate the incident. Investigators of the Major Crimes Unit discovered that the victim had been abused by 2 different suspects at 2 different times. The suspects were identified by the victim and contacted at a residence on the 400 block of Lambourne Court in King City and taken into custody without incident and booked into the Monterey County Jail. 30-year-old Raul Cortez Gonzalez of King City was booked on 2 counts of Lewd Acts with a child under 14 and 1 count of annoying and molesting a minor. These incidents occurred in 2016. 31-year-old Antonio Gonzalez Vasquez was booked on 1 count of Lewd Acts with a child under 14. This incident occurred in 2017. No other information is being released at this time, the investigation is continuing. Anyone with further information regarding this case is encouraged to contact Det. King City City Council Announces Selection of José Arreola as New City Manager

  January 7, 2025-Following an extensive recruitment process, José Arreola has been selected by the King City City Council to be its next City Manager. Arreola will replace Steve Adams, who is retiring after serving in the position for the past 10 years. Arreola was selected from 31 applicants and 8 finalists for the position. King City CHP is searching for person of interest who fled the scene of a fatal crash in Greenfield

On Monday, September 16 at approximately 3:50 pm, a fatal traffic collision occurred on Metz Road south of Elm Avenue in Greenfield.  The driver who caused the collision fled on foot and is currently outstanding.  The California Highway Patrol King City Area is currently seeking the whereabouts of 31-year-old Agustin Santana-Moncada of King City who has been identified as a person of interest in the case.  The King City Area is requesting assistance from the public in locating Santana-Moncada.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the King City Area office at (831) 385-3216.
