26-year-old Jorge Jasso of Soledad who was kidnapped from his home on the morning of Monday, October 22 on Marin Place in Soledad is still missing. According to Soledad Police Chief Eric Sills, Jasso was one of 14 suspected gang members charged in an FBI bust 2 weeks ago. They were indicted with a wide range of assaults, attempted murder, and drug trafficking. Jasso was charged with conspiracy to commit assault with a weapon in aid of racketeering. If convicted, the 14 men would all face life in prison. At first, the police initially thought that the motive behind the kidnapping was unknown. Jasso was supposed to be in court on the day he was forcibly removed from his home. Jasso also served time in the Monterey County Jail for gang related crimes. The Soledad Police Department and the FBI are still investigating the incident.
