On Sunday night, October 14 at 5:15 pm, Officers responded to South Third Street in King City for a report of a victim who was suffering from a stab wound. Officers arrived on the scene and contacted the victim who was suffering from a laceration to his right leg. The victim informed Officers that the suspect, who was identified as 38-year-old Federico Torres, used a machete style weapon to swing towards the victim causing the injury to his leg. Officers were able to locate the suspect in a nearby residence and made the arrest for assault with a deadly weapon. Officers were also able to locate the weapon used in this crime. There were multiple people who witnessed this incident. Torres was transported to the Monterey County Jail. The King City Police Department would like to thank the witnesses who assisted in this investigation.
