Greenfield man stabbed to death




On Sunday night, October 21 at around 6:55 pm Officers from the Greenfield Police Department were dispatched to a residence on the 50 block of 9th Street in regards to a stabbing that had occurred. Upon the officers arrival they found the victim in a room in the residence suffering from puncture wounds to the body. The officers performed life saving measures on the victim until they were relieved by paramedics from AMR. The paramedics were unable to revive the victim who subsequently died from his wounds. The preliminary investigation determined the victim got into a fight and was stabbed by the suspect. Investigators from the Major Crimes Unit were called to investigate the incident. The ensuing investigation revealed that the victim and suspect who are brothers were in a room in the residence when they began arguing, the argument escalated to a physical fight and the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Juan Jose Cervantes, allegedly stabbed the victim, 20-year-old Christian Elizondo Pacheco who died at the scene. The investigation by patrol officers and Investigators of the Major Crimes Unit received information that the suspect may be at a residence on the 300 block of Parkside in Greenfield. The suspect was contacted outside a residence by patrol officers and Investigators and taken into custody without incident.  Cervantes was booked into the Monterey County Jail on one count of homicide. No other information is being released at this time, as the investigation is continuing. King City City Council Announces Selection of José Arreola as New City Manager

  January 7, 2025-Following an extensive recruitment process, José Arreola has been selected by the King City City Council to be its next City Manager. King City CHP is searching for person of interest who fled the scene of a fatal crash in Greenfield

On Monday, September 16 at approximately 3:50 pm, a fatal traffic collision occurred on Metz Road south of Elm Avenue in Greenfield.  The driver who caused the collision fled on foot and is currently outstanding.  The California Highway Patrol King City Area is currently seeking the whereabouts of 31-year-old Agustin Santana-Moncada of King City who has been identified as a person of interest in the case.  The King City Area is requesting assistance from the public in locating Santana-Moncada.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the King City Area office at (831) 385-3216.
