On Saturday night, October 7, a deputy conducted a vehicle check on a suspicious vehicle on Central Avenue in King City. The deputy that located the vehicle found Jamie Alvarado asleep in the drivers seat. The deputy believing that the man may be intoxicated looked through the windows for alcohol containers, but instead saw a handgun lying within reach of the man. Deputies were able to detain Alvarado without incident and also determined that Alvarado was intoxicated. King City CHP Officers arrived and conducted a DUI investigation and determined that Alvarado had been driving impaired and placed him under arrest for DUI and possession of the firearm.
