A car caught on fire on a tow truck just after 1:30 pm on Tuesday afternoon, October 30 on Highway 101 Northbound, south of Greenfield near the Espinoza Road exit. The tow truck driver pulled over to the shoulder of the Highway almost immediately once he noticed that a 1955 Ford Thunderbird he was transporting was engulfed in flames. The Greenfield Fire Department extinguished the fire in the car within about 15 minutes, while the CHP was in charge of traffic control on Highway 101 Northbound during that time and the Greenfield Police Department was also on the scene. No one was hurt. The cause of the car fire is undetermined.
