Construction will be taking place for the next 2 months to complete the regional stormwater recharge project in Soledad. The work will affect traffic flow on the north end of Front Street, followed by Gabilan, and then San Vicente. The developments that drain to, and will drain to, the stormwater retention basin on Gabilan Drive of Toledo Basin will exceed the basin's capacity. The Toledo Basin was intended as a temporary retention pond until the Gabilan sewer line could be constructed and was not intended to handle the amount of stormwater that drains to it already, in the event that the City experiences a 25-year or higher flood event. The cost of this project is around $3.7 million and is being paid for through Storm Drain Impact Fees.
