On Thursday, July 26, the Paso Robles Police Department arrested 20
year-old Matthew Meyer for assault with a deadly weapon. Officers responded to
a 911 call on the 2000 block of Silverwood Way for a reported argument between Meyer
and his 18 year-old brother. Officers learned the argument had escalated to a
physical fight and Meyer had retrieved a steak knife from the kitchen. The
victim turned to move away from his brother and Meyer stabbed his brother in
the back near his left shoulder blade. EMS arrived on the scene and transported
the victim to TCH with non-life threatening injuries. As a result of the
investigation, Matthew Meyer was placed under arrest and transported to the San
Luis Obispo County jail where he was booked on the charge of assault with a
deadly weapon
