A King City teacher was arrested during the week of June 24 for lewd acts with a
student and for giving the minor drugs.
According
to the Monterey County Sheriff's Office, they were notified of a possible
inappropriate relationship between a teacher and a 16-year-old high school
student on June 25 or June 26. Their investigation indicated that the teacher and
student were in a sexual relationship from November of 2017 to June of 2018. The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office also stated that Jones gave the
teen boy marijuana on several occasions.
29-year-old
Jennifer Suzanne Jones was arrested at her home on the 600 block of Heirloom
Place on Thursday, June 28.
Jones
taught at Pinnacle Academy Charter School, an independent studies program in
King City.
Jones
is no longer an employee of the South Monterey County Joint Union High School
District. Investigators don't think any of the sexual activity occurred on
school property.
Jones
was arrested and transported to the Monterey County Jail. Her bail was set at
$300,000.
