Gang member and convict arrested in King City



On Thursday morning, July 26 at around 11am officers from the King City Police Department stopped a 2016 Gold Honda Accord traveling southbound on Hwy 101 at the Canal Street exit for excessive speed. When the officers contacted the driver, he identified himself as 23-year-old Arnulfo Diaz from Watsonville. When the officers noticed a stun gun in plain view, they conducted a records check on Diaz and found that he was a convicted felon and a Northern gang member. The officers did a search of the vehicle and came across a loaded 9MM pistol which was reported stolen out of Santa Cruz County.
Diaz was transported and booked into the Monterey County Jail charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm with a prior conviction and possession of a stolen firearm.

3 Vehicle Accident on Highway 101 in Soledad on December 7

  A 3 vehicle crash ocurred on Highway 101 Southbound near the Front Street exit in Soledad at 4:01 pm on Thursday afternoon, December 7. Minor injuries were reported as a result of the collision. 

1 Vehicle Rollover Outside of King City on October 20

  1 vehicle overturned off of County Road 18 and Frudden Road outside of King City at 2:34 pm on Friday afternoon, October 20. 1 occupant received injuries as a result of the crash and ended up being transported to Natividad Medical Center in Salinas to be treated. The cause of the wreck is unknown.
