The City of Greenfield Parks and Recreation Committee met on
Monday, February 26 to walk through Patriot Park and get an idea regarding what kind of
condition that the soccer fields and the park overall is in. Once they were
done with their walk through they discussed as a group what they feel needs to
be improved at the Park, research everything they talked about before their next meeting in March and send over their
ideas to the Greenfield City Council for their consideration. They agreed that the
condition of the soccer fields and the park in general needs to be improved,
that there should be more safety on the walking and playing fields for games,
that the lighting in the parks could be better and that animal and pet issues
are resolved. They also agreed to make a
recommendation to the Council that the usage of the soccer fields needs to be
reevaluated. The Greenfield Parks and Recreation Committee will be meeting again on Monday night, March 19 at 6pm.

Parks staff also contacted the Water Resources Agency (WRA), State Water Resources Control Board and Environmental Health Bureau. Unfortunately, the fish die off has continued with larger species such as bass, catfish, crappie, carp, and trout being impacted. Attached photos include a 3–4-pound bass. CDFW, WRA and EHB are working together to try to determi
