Monterey
County wants to create its first-ever official county flag. That is why there is a call out to local
artists for designs. Of California’s 58
counties, only 24 have their own flags and Monterey County wants to be number
25. Designs should embody the history of
Monterey County. Consider color schemes
and elements from various parts of the county like historical landmarks and
local wildlife, agriculture, coastline and rivers, and mountain ranges. Artists submitting a design must live in
Monterey County and the deadline for submissions is January 30. For more, go to http://www.co.monterey.ca.us/countyflag
